This workshop will cover strategies, practical techniques, and helpful tips for successfully identifying, controlling, and eradicating this stubborn invasive species We will also discuss which trees, shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers make the best replacements to help outcompete buckthorn regrowth while improving habitat, biodiversity, and overall landscape health.

Adam Hjelm has been teaching community education and gardening classes for nearly twenty years. He is passionate about native plants and helping people green up their spaces in a variety of ways. Adam is an environmental educator, Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, and Lawns to Legumes coach. In his spare time, he can be found wandering the woods, gardening in the backyard, or chasing fish on local lakes.
