Alexandria Girls Basketball "AGB" Camp (Gr. K-8)Recreation"AGB" Camp is an opportunity for your athlete to work with the Cardinal Varsity coaching staff on skills and advanced offense and defense techniques. 70% of the camp will be drill work, and the other 30% will be small sided 1 on 1, 2 on 2, and 3 on 3 game play, where players will be put in game-like scenarios that will improve their IQ and decision making. The K-3rd grade session will focus on the basic skills and concepts. The 4th-6th grade session will work on the intermediate skills and team execution. 7th-8th grade will work on advanced offensive and defensive skills, team execution and developing a "Next Level" attitude.Youth Summer 2026 - Spring 2027 -

Alexandria Girls Basketball-Summer League (Gr. 9-12)RecreationSummer league is an interscholastic basketball league played on Monday nights in Alexandria. Play will be divided into two tiers, a top tier and a bottom tier. Teams will be asked to provide their own reversible uniforms. Starting SoonAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard Re-Certification CourseAquaticsAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard Training Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. This class is for recertification. Must be certified or not have expired more than 30 days prior to the class. Bring fanny pack and pocket mask (adult and infant). Prerequisites: Swim-Tread-Swim. Swim 150 yds demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing, immediately tread water for 2 minutes, (using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits) then swim another 50 yards. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used. Goggles are not allowed for the timed event. -You have 1 minute, 40 seconds to complete the following sequence. -Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Your face may be in or out of the water. -Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. -Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on your back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping your face at or near the surface. Swimming the distance underwater is not permitted. -Exit the water without using a ladder or the steps. American Sign LanguageEnrichmentThis course introduces the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). This course is designed for students with no or minimal sign language skills to develop basic skills in use of ASL and knowledge of Deaf culture. Emphasis is upon acquisition of comprehension, production and interactional skills using basic grammatical features. ASL will be taught within contexts and related to general surroundings and everyday life experiences. Athleticism Camp (Ages 6-12)RecreationDASH Sports Summer Athleticism camps provide participants with an overall athleticism building camp experience including speed training, agility, endurance, body control/balance, quickness, strength, power, and jumping. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic performance. All participants will be evaluated and timed on the first and last day of camp on several athletic tests. Children can make a difference in an emergency situation. It is important to let them know basic first aid steps in different situations.
