Introduction to the Private Pilot’s License

Adult / Enrichment -
Adult Fall 2025 - Summer 2026

Are you interested in aviation? Considering learning to fly? This ground school course will introduce you to weather, aerodynamics of flight, aircraft airworthiness, regulations for pilots and planes, and airspace. These topics are fun to learn and are a great introduction to the ground portion of the private pilot certificate. The knowledge you will have when you walk away from this course would cost about $550 with a private instructor. This class is a cost effective way to get your aviation dreams off the ground. There may be an option to participate in a free airport ride by local pilots. Class size is limited, so register today!

Alexandria Aviation - Micala Anderson

Flight Instructor

Kayla Anderson is a full-time Flight Instructor originally from Eagan, Minnesota who now calls Alexandria home. She attended Alexandria Technical and Community College for Interior Design and worked as an interior designer (which in her words doesn't help her aviation career one bit) for a few years before making the career change to aviation. After achieving her Private Pilot License through Alexandria Aviation, she enrolled in ATP Flight School in Eden Prairie and completed all of her advanced ratings before returning to Alexandria to instruct. Outside of the airport, she enjoys vacationing, exploring, and relaxing on the lakes in the summer.
