Piano Reading for Adults: From Stuck to Fluent

Do you find yourself stopping to figure out every note? Losing your place when you look at your hands? Struggling to keep a steady rhythm while reading?
If so, you’re not alone—and it’s not a lack of effort. Many adult learners feel stuck because they were never shown a clear, effective way to approach reading at the piano.
In this class, you’ll learn how to move beyond slow, note-by-note decoding and begin recognizing patterns, making reading feel more natural and manageable. When this shift happens, playing becomes smoother, more confident, and far less frustrating.
Designed for adult beginners and returning players, this class offers a supportive, step-by-step path for anyone who wants piano reading to finally make sense.

Piano Coach

I have over 30 years of experience teaching piano and 20 years in ESL, with a focus on how adults learn to read and process new information. I work primarily with adult learners who feel stuck or frustrated with music reading, often because they haven’t been shown a clear, effective approach. My teaching focuses on identifying those gaps and helping students move from note-by-note reading to recognizing patterns more naturally. When that shift happens, students tend to gain confidence and begin to enjoy playing again.
