Celebrate Independence Day with a burst of creativity and sweetness! In Sparkle & Sprinkle: 4th of July Cake pops, participants will roll, dip, and decorate their very own cake pops in patriotic style. Using red, white, and blue shimmers, sprinkles, and edible glitter, each cake pop becomes a dazzling treat that’s as fun to make as it is to eat. They will also learn simple cake pop techniques, experiment with colorful designs, and create festive treats perfect for the holiday. At the end of class, everyone will take home their decorated cake pops to share with family and friends—adding sparkle to any 4th of July celebration.

In this fun, hands-on workshop, participants will explore the fascinating world of biology while baking delicious treats! We will combine STEM learning with culinary creativity, discovering how science and nature connect to everyday life. What We’ll Do Panda Brownies: While baking panda-themed brownies, students will learn about the biology and conservation of giant pandas, including their habitats, diets, and the importance of biodiversity. Butterfly Truffles: As they craft colorful butterfly truffles, youth will dive into the lifecycle of butterflies—from egg to caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult—connecting biology concepts to their edible creations. Lunch Break: Midway through the day, we’ll pause for a lunch break generously provided by Ms. B, giving students time to recharge and socialize before continuing their STEM adventure.

Dive into the science of water quality and the importance of clean lakes! Start with a tour of the Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District wastewater plant, then head to Smokey Timbers Camp on beautiful Lake Miltona for paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boats, and wake surfing. Whether a beginner or expert, Mike Jost from Hang Loose MN will guide you to success!
